Vegas Telugu Assn. (VeTA) is pleased to announce "Telugu - Language Basics (101)" class for kids this summer. This class will be free for kids who are 5 years or older and will be accommodated on a first come first serve basis,with an intent to keep the class size around 10 to 12 kids. This class is planned to be conducted over the weekends (ie., every/alternative Saturdays) starting this Saturday the 19th of June @ 11.00am till the end of summer/curriculum, based on the class turnout and kids/parents interest.
One of our VeTA community members, Mrs.Sudha Kakani who lives in Mountains Edge area with her family, volunteered to teach this class for interested kids.
Curriculum: Detailed curriculum will be circulated to the attendees and will include the following subjects · Telugu Alphabets (Aksharaalu) · Telugu Words and Numbers (padaalu and ankelu) · Telugu Stories (Neethi Kathalu) · Telugu Poems (padyaalu) and · Other fun activities for kids based on their age groups.
Venue: As this is volunteered activity, class will be conducted at Mrs.Sudha’s home, which will be communicated later to the attendees.
If we see greater response than the capacity of this class, VeTA will try to find more volunteers for teaching these classes, keeping geographical locations and convenience of the perspective students/parents in mind.
Note: There is one time fee of $10 per student and $5 per month towards class supplies
If you are interested to sign your kids for this program, please contact telugu_class@vegasta.org immediately. VeTA requests parents to RSVP by Thursday, June 17, 2010; please only RSVP on behalf your kids, not friend’s kids.
